Indonesia to Increase the Number of Foreign Tourists to 20 Million by 2019

The Tourism Ministry of Indonesia has recently taken part in the annual Vietnam International Travel Mart (VITM) held in Hanoi aiming at popularization of travelling in Indonesia and seeking to increase the number of foreign tourists visiting the country to 20 mln by 2019.

Vietnam International Travel Mart (VITM) held in Hanoi every year attracts representatives of tourist business from Asia and Europe. It gives the opportunity to travel related business like tour operators, airlines and hoteliers to get acquainted with new products. 

At VITM travel business seeks cooperation with tourist companies from Vietnam and other countries, besides consumers can buy package tours themselves. Seven companies from Yogyakarta and Bali took part in the event to promote destinations in their country and advertise packages for foreign tourists. The Indonesian booth provided an advertising video, a batik corner and souvenirs to the visitors. 

Lake Toba tours were sold to travel agents, hoteliers and other buyers. The events of the Wonderful Indonesia calendar of events 2018 were promoted, one of them being the Asian Games which will be held in Jakarta and Palembang. The actions of this kind are really very important for raising market awareness and introducing new tourist destinations and products.
