In qualitative terms it is seven million new jobs around the world. 2017 set the record in creating occupations in travel sector, which showed growth of 4.6 per cent, that is fifty per cent faster than the global economy in general. Travel and tourism industry also has outstripped other industries like manufacturing, retail and wholesale, agriculture and even financial services, the growth in which was between 2.5 and 4.2, maximum.
The main source of growth was demonstrated by Asian countries with China at the head, having increased 9.8 per cent, Northeast Asia – 7.4 per cent and Southeast Asia – 6.7 per cent.
It is expected that in ten year’s time employment in tourism will grow considerably in China and India. Latin America demonstrated 1.4 per cent decline in tourism GDP, while Europe produced 4.8 per cent growth. The prospects for the current year are optimistic, though lower than last year resulting from rising oil prices.
