It’s hard to imagine the Philippines without colorful jeepney, a smoke-belching truck-turned-taxi, which is a symbol of the country since 1950s. But it looks that the traditional Philippines vehicle will be changed soon.

The electric vehicle supporters are considering the country as the electric transportation hub of Southeast Asia. At the 3rd Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit in Manila on this week two electric jeepney prototypes were presented to the public. As expects, 1 million electric vehicles should be used in the Philippines by 2020.
