Long-haul Air Asia unit is coming to Thailand

Air Asia X, which specializes in long-haul flights, plans to open its affiliate in Thailand, at Bangkok’s Don Mueang Airport.

Air Asia X, which specializes in long-haul flights, plans to open its affiliate in Thailand, at Bangkok’s Don Mueang Airport. According to Thai AirAsia CEO, Tassapon Bijleveld, Air Asia X will bring new perspective to the aviation industry.

The airline already got approval from Department of Civil Aviation of Thailand, early in February, but flight schedules, recruitment and preparation of airport slots are in the making.

During the first year Thai AirAsia X will use Airbus A330-300s equipped with 365 economy class seats and 12 business class seats. In 2013 year the Air Asia X was named the World’s Best Low Cost Airline Premium Class at the Skytrax World Airline Awards.
