Yesterday, on 5 February the Cambodian capital Pnom Penh received first ten public buses. After month-long test-run they will be put into operation.
It’s a big step for Pnom Penh’ Administration as never before city had public buses. During one month the Authorities will try to determine if citizens ready to say “no” for motorbikes and cars. By introducing bus system the capital’s Administration tries to solve the problem of mass congestions on the roads. The buses also should help to reduce traffic accidents, but the previous attempt to introduce the system failed.
