The cyclists of Yogyakarta in the central Java demand to open more streets for bicycles and to become more “cyclists-friendly” of local Administration as the popularity of this sport is growing too fast.

The cyclists organized a rally in front of Tugu Jogja monument dedicated to 8-year-old Nova Arif Safaat, who recently been hit by a tourist bus while riding a bicycle and died. Yogyakarta is becoming more and more popular for its cyclist communities, but just two streets now are safe for cyclists owing to designated bicycle lanes. They are: Jl. Malioboro and Jl.
