Although a low-cost airline, THAI Smile is owned by national carrier Thai Airways and so is based at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport. Services to Luang Prabang will take off from Suvarnabhumi at 12:25 on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Scheduled arrival time in Luang Prabang is 14:00.
Return flights will leave at 14:50 and arrive back in Bangkok at 16:25. THAI Smile maintains a fleet of Airbus A320-200s and will be using these to serve the route. 12GO ASIA already offers reservations services for Bangkok Airways and Thai AirAsia flights on this route and will be adding THAI Smile’s in the near future.
The new service is not the first time THAI Smile has flown to Luang Prabang. The airline inaugurated the route late in 2014, but pulled the plug on it about 18 months later. This route is one of several the airline is currently launching. These include Phuket to Shanghai and Phuket to Guangzhou as well as Bangkok to Mandalay.
