New Year has brought new road to Vietnam

Yesterday, 2 January 20 km section of the HCM City-Long Thanh-Dau Giay Expressway was officially put into operation to support the National Highway 1A.

Yesterday, 2 January 20 km section of the HCM City-Long Thanh-Dau Giay Expressway was officially put into operation to support the National Highway 1A which suffers from traffic congestion. It has 6 lines with two  for emergency stops. The construction was started in October 2009.

The section connects Ring Road II in District 9 with National Highway 51 in Long Thanh District of Dong Nai Province. It will shorten the distance between HCM City and Vung Tau from 120 km to 96 km and from 2.5 hours to 80 minutes travel time. The distance between HCM City and Long Thanh will be reduced from 45 km to 22 km and 1 hour to 20 minutes travel time due to new road.
