Buses in Vietnam rise in price in New Year eve

Despite the efforts of the Vietnamese Authorities massive demand for public transport on the occasion of Tet (Lunar New Year) has led to higher price.

Despite the efforts of the Vietnamese Authorities massive demand for public transport on the occasion of Tet (Lunar New Year) has led to higher price. As transport service companies in HoChiMinh city reported the price increased  by 5 to 10% for weekdays.

The Authorities of Mien Dong (East bound) Coach Station limited the rising of price up to 20-60% during Tet, but some companies try to make up for lost income during the year by means of price increase and sell tickets at twice the price outside the station. Transport inspectors are able to control the price only inside station and warn passengers to avoid the sellers from outside.
