Animation theme park debuts in Malaysia

After several false alarms, Malaysia’s Movie Animation Park Studios theme park finally welcomed its first guests last week. The debut Asian animation theme park is located in the Perak State capital city of Ipoh and an exciting addition to the portfolio of regional attractions.

Ahead of the soft opening ceremonies, visitors reported queues of adults and children were waiting patiently outside long before the scheduled opening time of 10:00. MAPS, as locals have already dubbed it, features an eclectic collection of shows and thrilling rides.

The Stunt Legend Arena is the venue for auto stunt performances while BoBoiBoy Hero Academy, Mr Peabody and Sherman’s Time Adventure, and Character Appearance are among the top attractions. The high adrenalin Asteroid Attack and Megamind Megadrop Tower have already won over legions of fans with their unique experiences.

Merchandise outlets sell the likes of the Smurfs and DreamWorks branded products which provide treasured memories of days spent in animated paradise. 12GO ASIA notes that the Movie Animation Park Studios is an easy taxi ride from either Ipoh Amanjaya Bus Station or Ipoh Railway Station.
