Top Swedish jazz artiste to perform at Hanoi bistro

Music fans in Hanoi are in store for a treat this weekend as an acclaimed Swedish jazz pianist is scheduled to play two concerts. Hakan Rydin and an all-star cast from the Vietnam National Music Academy will play live at the city’s Don’s, A Chef’s Bistro on Friday and Saturday.

The jazz maestro and friends will be live on stage from 20:30 on both evenings. Admission to the gigs is free, but the Chef’s Bistro says people planning to attend should phone to make reservations beforehand.

The Hanoi Midsummer Concert is the latest in a long line of visits Mr Rydin has made to Vietnam. A former member of Nexus, Rydin spent two decades travelling the world with the band. Since the band broke up in the mid 1990s, he has collaborated with the likes of Kim Parker, Svante Thuresson and David Liebman.

A Chef’s Bistro is located in the Tay Ho area of Hanoi and is about four kilometres north of Hoan Kiem Lake. 12GO ASIA says people going to the bistro for the concerts will find the nearest major landmark is the InterContinental Hanoi Westlake. The image of the concert poster is supplied with courtesy by Vietnam Net.
