Singapore Airport launches Tanah Merah ferry port bus link

Singapore’s Changi Airport has just inaugurated a bus link to the Tanah Merah Ferry Port. The economical and convenient buses run eight times a day in each direction with two additional departures on Saturdays and Sundays.

At Changi, the buses depart from Terminal 2 and fares are S$2 for a single journey. Ferries from Tanah Merah ply routes across the Singapore Strait to North Indonesia’s Bintan and Bantan islands.

The bus service is being jointly provided by Changi Airport Group and the Singapore Cruise Centre. Changi development director Lim Ching Kiat said the air-to-sea bus link had been introduced to provide passengers with more choices and to facilitate ease for international travellers.

The new bus service is part of Changi’s initiatives to satisfy ever increasing demands for travel diversity. It complements a new Singapore Cruise Centre Tanah Merah-Batam Centre ferry route launched at the end of 2016 plus a soon-to-launch one to Batam Harbour Bay Terminal.
