Visa regime in Vietnam should be simplified

Except Myanmar, Vietnam is only one country of ASEAN Community which doesn’t have clear system of ‘visa-on-arrival’ receipt for foreign travelers and demands pre-approval process before arriving.

To receive visa to Vietnam the most of foreigners have to apply for their visas weeks in advance and to confirm their visas online or in the Vietnamese Embassy before arriving. Vietnamese ‘visa-on-arrival’ costs twice the price in other ASEAN countries.

Only some nationalities are able to visit Vietnam without visa for 15 days including Danish, Japanese, Finnish, Swedish, Norwegian, Russian and South Korean. The Citizens of ASEAN are also able to visit Vietnam up to the 14 days without visas.

After some negative comments about the difficulty of obtaining  ‘visa-on-arrival’ Vietnamese Authorities promised to offer online visa system to ease the process of visa’s issue.
