The BMTA has allocated eight air-conditioned buses for the route. Service times are between 06:00 and 20:00 every day. The agency says the buses will depart from each of the route’s terminuses at 45-minute intervals during service hours
The departure point for buses at Suvarnabhumi Airport is across from Gate 7 on the ground floor of the passenger terminal. The S1 calls at Ratchadamnoen Avenue and Khao San Road before terminating at the nearby Sanam Luang Park. The park is close to the landmark Bangkok Grand Palace.
The BMTA has set a flat-rate fare of THB60 for the trip. 12GO ASIA’s travel team says this works out to about 20 per cent of the average THB300 cost of a ‘Taxi-Meter’ for the same trip. Our image of the poster for the S1 comes with courtesy of transport forum Rotmaethai.
