THAI Airways adds to THAI Smile code share choices

The vice-president of THAI Airways has confirmed the addition of several new code share routes for its summer 2017 timetables. The new options are tie-ups with the Thai national carrier’s subsidiary, THAI  Smile, and are in effect through to 28 October.

Teerapol Chotichanapibal told reporters the additional code shares would allow passengers flying to Thailand with THAI Airways more convenient connections when travelling onwards with THAI  Smile. The THAI Smile routes now covered under the programme are from Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok to Luang Prabang, Siem Reap, Kota Kinabalu and Chittagong.

The two sister carriers already had code share agreements in place to Changsha, Chongqing and Zhengzhou in China as well as Jaipur and Lucknow in India.  THAI Airways recently reached a similar code sharing agreement with Thai boutique carrier Bangkok Airways.

Bangkok Airways and THAI  Smile fly a number of the same routes. Flying THAI all the way allows members of the Royal Orchid Plus frequent flyers club to accrue maximum miles. 12GO ASIA offers advance booking services for both airlines. One quick search will show the best deals for the day from all travel providers on the designated route.
