Singapore's Scoot and Thailand's Nok Air plans to cooperate and merge into a new low-cost carrier to provide increased interest to budget flights in the Southeast Asia region. The new airline will be named NokScoot and will be half owned by both companies. NokScoot will operate overseas and domestic flights.
Malaysia-based low-coster Tiger Airways also announced the opening new budget airline in Taiwan in cooperation with India-based Spicejet airline. So the low-cost airlines’ market prospects are promising enough but at this time all the above projects are under approval.
