New Penang Bridge to be opened in the next year

As it expected the Second Penang Bridge should be opened to traffic in February 2014 year. The 24km Bridge will connect Batu Kawan on the mainland with Batu Maung on the island.

As it expected the Second Penang Bridge should be opened to traffic in February 2014 year. The 24km Bridge with 16,9 km over the water will connect Batu Kawan on the mainland with Batu Maung on the island.

It will be the longest Bridge not only of Malaysia, but of the Southeast Asia region, which should support the transportation system and reduce traffic congestions on the Penang Bridge. The opening of the second Penang Bridge was planned at the earlier time, but it takes more time for modernization works.
