Although the offerings are predominantly Thai textbooks, novels and magazines there are enough English language novels and reference to make the centre worth a visit. Thailand Post’s stand has proved to be a major attraction this year and has done a brisk trade selling royal commemorative stamps.
Most of the stamps celebrate the life and times of King Bhumibol Adulyadej. The Thai monarch passed away last October after a reign of seven decades. The stamps are sold at face value with average prices of THB45 a set.
The Bangkok book fair runs until 9 April and is open daily between 10:00 and 21:00.
