Crowds flood into debut Phnom Penh container market

Cambodia’s debut container market has proved to be a big hit with punters since its grand opening two weeks ago. The Phnom Penh night market was erected and opened by Jet Group and features 220 stalls selling a range of items including clothing, footwear, souvenirs, Cambodian silks, jewellery, food and drinks.

Food offerings such as grilled squid and prawns, fried chicken’s feet, Japanese ramen noodles and kuy teav noodles ensure the cravings of serious foodies are satisfied. The upper decks on the containers are ideal for chilling and enjoying a cool Angkor beer or a nectar-like cocktail.

Vendors at the market open their stalls at 16:00 and close up at about 23:00. It is situated near the junction of National Assembly Street and Street 78 and a few minutes on foot from Koh Pich. The 2.5 acre plot of land Jet’s Night Market is located on was formerly a karaoke lounge-Cambodian café centre.

Phnom Penh is renowned for its diverse nightlife and dining scene and has something to cater to all tastes. It is the country’s capital and the main point of entry for international visitors. 12GO ASIA provides ticketing choices from the likes of Ho Chi Minh City, Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur.
