As previously reported the Government of Malaysia said that 12-year cars might pose a threat to drivers and are not so safety as new cars. This statement has caused a lot of rumors, but Deputy Transport Minister Datuk Abdul Aziz Kaprawi officially said that the Ministry doesn’t plan to impose an age limit for cars because it will entail the socio-economic consequences.
He also added that the Government will not review road tax rates for hybrid and green technology powered vehicles. In the case of the introduction of any future changes the Government will consult the Finance Ministry to minimize the financial costs of the public and of industry.
