Jointly with UN Woman which uphold Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women The Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA) started the program to ensure women’s safety in public transport of the Thai capital.
BMTA already have trained 500 of 14 000 staff in a better understanding of the 14 types of sexual harassment and in a ways to prevent them. BMTA also plans to conduct work with population through 10,000 stickers, pamphlets and video clips propagandizing struggle against sexual inequality.
The project will be dedicated to the International day for the Elimination of Violence against Women to be held on 25 November.
