Vietnam has tightened rules for foreign drivers

The Government of Vietnam has tightened rules for foreign drivers who wants to visit the country for 30 or less days. According to new decree which will take effect on 25 December this year self-drivers have to fulfill some requirements.

The Government of Vietnam has tightened rules for foreign drivers who wants to visit the country for 30 or less days. According to new decree which will take effect on 25 December this year self-drivers have to fulfill some requirements. The most strange of them are:

- The cars should be left-hand,;
- Drivers should hire an escort for vehicles, which is expected to be very expensive;
- Drivers should gain approval for their vehicles from Vietnamese international travel firm and written approval from the Ministry of Transport.
