“Railway should become an alternative way of traveling in Thailand,” - with this statement Transport Minister Chadchart Sittipunt appealed to the State Railways of Thailand (SRT).

 
“Railway should become an alternative way of traveling in Thailand,” - with this statement Transport Minister Chadchart Sittipunt appealed to the State Railways of Thailand (SRT).

In his opinion the SRT Authority's efforts are not enough for development of Thai Railways. In spite of the conducted restoration works the accidents with trains are still happening. Now they are able to run at 70 kms/hour, but the high speed train project or dual track are in a distant future.
