During the decades under military rule the residents of Myanmar were able to drive only old classic European cars, which had become just garbage after the opening of the country and people’s ability to buy new Japanese cars.
Last Monday the group of activists started their 2 weeks and 1429 km road trip named "Myanmar-Burma Road Classic". They are going to travel through the Myanmar including Bagan, Inle Lake and Ngapali Beach.
About twenty all classic cars take part in this event, nine of them are owned by foreigners. As organizers said, “We hope will help save the country's ageing automobiles from the scrapheap”.
