Airport taxes in Thailand might be increased

The Airports of Thailand, which owns the majority airports in the country, is going to increase taxes by 100 baht. The Thai government said, that this change will improve the quality of tourists and will help to cover expenses on their treating in the state hospitals.

The Airports of Thailand, which owns the majority airports in the country, is going to increase taxes by 100 baht. Its board of directors has already agreed this offer, now it should be considered by transport and aviation authorities.

If new rules will enter to a force the airport taxes for domestic flights makes up 200 baht, for international flights – 800 baht. The Thai government said, that this change will improve the quality of tourists and will help to cover expenses on their treating in the state hospitals.

At the same time some countries already reacted negatively to this news.

We would remind you, that Thailand is also going to introduce an obligatory entrance fee (500 baht) for all tourists since next year.
