Jakarta continues to improve transportation system

Not long time ago Jakarta’s Administration reported the start of long-awaited MRT construction. Now they said that monorail project, which was canceled due to lack of funding, would be restored.

Not long time ago Jakarta’s Administration reported the start of long-awaited MRT construction. Now they said that monorail project, which was canceled due to lack of funding, would be restored. This changes in Jakarta’s transportation system are steps to the great future of Indonesia’s capital, which now is one of the busiest cities in the region.

According to plan monorail will have capacity 300 000 passengers per day by 2016 year and 600 000 passengers - by 2025 year. The budget of this mega project is $710 million. It would promote Jakarta’s transport becomes easier and more comfortable.

The monorail will consist of two lines: green line with 16 stations in South Jakarta and blue line with 14 stations from East to West Jakarta.
