Krabi Airport increases the capacity

Krabi Airport, which is situated in about 100 km from Phuket Island is gaining popularity and going to expand by 2015 year. The Civil Aviation Department which leads the Airport, announced that its capacity after renovation would be 3 million per year.

Passenger terminal and parking space will be increased to ensure the growing tourist’s interest. The number of passengers at the airport increases by 12% annually. In this year it would be about 1,2 million people. The number of flights per week at the Airport is around 100.

Krabi Airport also supports Phuket Airport which is undergoing expansion and serves flights each 10 minutes. The construction work would start at the beginning of the next year.
