In the next year Vietnamese VietJet Air is going to start three new projects in common with Asian airlines. It should greatly increase its competitiveness in Southeast Asia and especially in the Mekong region.
Beside investment in Myanmar Airlines and Thailand’s Kan Air, the main target of VietJet is the opening of yet unnamed Northeast Asian airline. According to Thai law 51% of it will belong to Kan Air and 49% - to VietJet.
The new airline will be based at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport and will serve domestic and international flights, which will be operated by Airbus.
