Thai buses will be supplied with CCTV

To ensure safety journeys for Thai and foreign passengers Transport Ministry of Thailand will supply all of 800 state buses with closed-circuit television cameras (CCTV).

To ensure safety journeys for Thai and foreign passengers Transport Ministry of Thailand will supply all of 800 state buses with closed-circuit television cameras (CCTV). They already have global positioning system (GPS) devices, but that is not enough.

As Deputy Transport Minister said, “the presence of the cameras can help keep drivers' behaviour in line with laws.” The CCTV will also work as a black box in emergency situations.

It is expected that each state bus will have five cameras and their signals will be linked to Transport Co's bus monitoring centre.
