The second part of the project will see service fees scrapped. The overhaul of the toilet facilities will apply to the 60 stations operated by the Land Transport Department plus another nine under the control of the Transport Company.
The Land Transport Department spokesperson continued by saying that the other 48 bus stations in the country are owned and operated by local and provincial councils. He explained that these bus stations would be smartened up as and when the controlling authorities received budgets to do so.
The Land Transport Department has designed its own toilet which complies with standards set by the Department of Health. Washrooms will also be equipped so that disabled people can use them more easily. The department says the improvements and abolition of the service fee should be finished by 30 September.

Thailand’s bureau for land transport has released news of a campaign to improve toilet facilities at bus stations throughout the country. The improvements are two-pronged and the first part will see toilets and washing facilities spruced up and standardised so that passengers are afforded the same experience no matter which station they are at.
