Best Western expands options in Myanmar

Global hotelier Best Western expanded its presence in Myanmar last week with the opening of a new property in the former capital of Yangon. Last Tuesday, the group welcomed its first guests to the Best Western Chinatown Hotel.

The establishment is in the middle of the city’s commercial district. Its location on Anawratha Road is just two blocks back from the Strand and the north bank of the Yangon River. The Best Western Chinatown features 91 beautifully appointed rooms with an understated décor steeped in traditional tones.

All rooms come with 42-inch satellite televisions, hot beverage making facilities and mini-bars, free wireless internet connectivity and in-room safes. Onsite guest amenities include a restaurant, snack and alcoholic beverages bar, and a fully-equipped conference centre.

The Chinatown premises will perfectly complement Best Western’s Green Hill Hotel which opened early last year and is close to the city’s landmark Shwedagon Pagoda. The group has two other Myanmar projects in the pipeline which will see it open properties in the core cities of Naypyidaw and Mandalay.
