Hefei China – 10 Best Hostels and Hotels to Stay in All Price Ranges

There are more than 1000 hotels in Hefei and you can find hotels to suit all budgets. There are only a few international hostels in the city although lots of choice for international travelers that prefer more luxurious surroundings.

Budget Accommodation

There is no particular area of the city that is specific for budget accommodation although there are some hostels close to the south railway station. That could be useful if you have an early departure.

We did not have much joy when finding hostels or information about them. There was one hostel listed on the hostelbookers site, it had no reviews and no listed address. It is called the Leaf and Her Friends Hostel. They have beds in dorm rooms for CNY60 per night. It was listed as having private single rooms with doubles, triples and one with four beds but no prices were listed.

We did find two hostels on a Chinese site, one is the Menghuan International Hostel with double rooms available for CNY94 per night. It is located on the corner of Tongcheng Road and Lujiang Road. The other hostel was the Beibao Hostel, it is just a ten minute walk from the south railway station on Qiankou Road, it is listed as being very clean although no English is spoken here and rooms are available for CNY88-95 per night.

Jinjiang Inn’s are a large chain of budget rated hotels across China, some are good others not so good. The Juijiang Inn on Suixi Road in Luyang district is definitely one of the better ones. Some of the staff at the reception desk speak English, this is unusual to find in 2 star hotels, the staff are also very enthusiastic and helpful, that is always nice to see. The rooms cost from CNY107-176 per night for a standard room and the two double beds make it suitable for a family with one or two small children. There is a very good breakfast available in the restaurant, although with 121 rooms the restaurant is not really big enough so get there early or be prepared to wait. It is a very good quality 2 star hotel.

Green Tree is another budget chain of hotels in China. The Green Tree Inn on Qingxi Road costs CNY140-CNY170 for a standard room that includes a Chinese style breakfast. It has a free fast internet service, is in a good location with a supermarket next to the hotel. The hotel is set on 12 floors; there are 99 rooms and only one elevator, at busy periods it can be a long wait to get to or from your room.

Mid-Range Hotel Accommodation in Hefei

The Holiday Inn Express Hefei Downtown is located on Changjiang Middle Road, right in the heart of the city. A standard room costs from CNY258-Cny 290 per night in this three star hotel. There is a choice of smoking and non-smoking rooms when available. At this hotel you are close to the Changjiang Road shopping district as well as Baohe Park. The attractions of Li Hongzhong’s Former Residence and the Lord Bao Memorial Temple are both within 15 minutes walking distance. The 282 room hotel offers a complimentary breakfast, free Wi-Fi and comfortable rooms with hot showers.

The Kangyuan Business Hotel is located on South Feihe Road in Baohe district. Standard rooms cost CNY233-CNY321 per night in this 129 room three star hotel. The hotel is in a good location in the south of the city. The buffet style breakfast is a good quality Chinese style breakfast. The service in the hotel is ok and adequate for the price of the room.

The Hefei Pullman is a four star hotel on Nanning East Road and standard sized double rooms cost from CNY296 to CNY416 per night. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. The service, food and hotel in general are all exceptional and we would happily stay here again the next time we are in Hefei.

The Jinling Hotel is located on Guangxi Road in Binhu district of Hefei, this four star hotel is in a great location. The rooms are spacious, well equipped with good Wi-Fi, clean and tidy. The staff are very well mannered, always courteous and try to be helpful even those not speaking English. The inclusive breakfast was good; checking in and out was simple, quick and easy. It is a highly recommended hotel.

Luxury Hotel Accommodation in Hefei

There are some great deals on luxury hotels in Hefei, unless you are travelling in the high season you should be able to get some big discounts off the listed price for 5 star hotels in the city.

The Westin Hefei Baohe is located on Maanshan Road and is in an ideal location for both business travelers and tourists. It is just a short distance from the south railway station, the main business district and the tourist attraction of Baohe Park, which contains Lord Bao’s Memorial Temple, in addition to shopping malls and walking streets. The hotel has 310 rooms that are surrounded in luxury from the high pressure shower and high speed internet. In the hotels public areas there is a lobby lounge and five restaurants. You can then workout in the gym or relax with a sauna.

The standard room rate costs between CNY832 and CNY1040 per night depending on the season with smoking and non smoking rooms available, by going online you may be able to get a lower room rate than the advertised price.

The Sheraton Hefei Xinzhan Hotel is located on Tongling North Road in the city with a fantastic view across the Hefei Ecology Park. There are 408 rooms and suites, all designed for the maximum comfort of guests. All the rooms have beds with a plush mattress, a flat screen TV, high speed internet and a work desk. It is located just 10 minutes by car from Hefei Railway Station.

The hotel has a choice of restaurants, a fitness centre, conference facilities, a spa and an indoor heated swimming pool. You can eat all day with fresh food cooked to order or choose from the buffet service. If you prefer Chinese food there is a Cantonese style restaurant. Or try the Japanese restaurant. There are so many food choices available 24 hours a day. The standard rate for rooms costs from CNY580 up to CNY775 per night with smoking and non-smoking rooms available. There are family rooms and suites available with suites costing up to CNY1320 per night.

The Ssaw Hotel is the perfect place to bring your partner with comfortable soft four-poster beds. The Ssaw Hotel Hefei is a four star hotel on Changjiang Middle Road in the centre of the city. The price of the standard rooms is from CNY404 up to CNY454 depending on the season. The check-in is very easy with English speaking staff available. There is a complimentary Chinese style breakfast served every morning and if you prefer western food there are several outlets within a few minutes’ walk including a bakery.

Unusual in China this hotel has a no smoking policy in the public areas. The rooms have a small espresso machine with complimentary coffee, a big screen TV with some English language channels and a good sized well equipped bathroom, with a bath and separate shower.
