The bus arrived 3 hour later, on a different place. The bed on bus was unconfortable. After that, the driver of shuttle, told me to send hotel name by whatsapp. I have thought he wanted use them to set the car navigator. I was wrong. He sended my phone number to taylor shop. Infact he picked up in to the wrong Place.

Have seen hardly anything worse in life. The bus was comfy. Everything else miserable. Started at the desk in Saigons bus station. So condescending people I have never seen in my whole life. Even bus assistant was a pain to put it mildly. I guess they heavily racist

In HCM the assistant driver was helpful with the luggage. But I bought a ticket to Hoi An and they dropped me in Da Nang. Then(after several times asking) they said a minibus would come for me. It didn't...and after waiting for almost an hour, a Grab driver came. He told me a grab scooter would come for me. Ridiculous of course: an hour on a scooter with 2 back backs! Then they said I had to pay for the grab car myself..after resisting a few times I paid 50%. Bad service!!!!

Halfway the trip we were supposed to change bus. We had to wait 2,5 house for the new bus to arrive. The driver of the first bus must have thought that he is a guardian in a prison. First of all not a Word of english, shouting, rude, not serviable at all. The second half was slightly better concerning the behavior of the company ‘ s employees, but it was still below zero. For persons teller than 180 cm the space in the “beds” is insufficiant. Conclusion; avoid the Hangcafe travel

The buses are amazing but the workers in Nha Xe Dinh are very impolite and rude. We stop in a disgusting place to take food, we asked them how long are you stopped here ? No answer, not even a look into the eyes. I tried to ask in Vietnamese using google translate, no answer, nothing. I am thinking a pig is better transported, I believe they never deal with humans !!! This company shouldn't transport turist.

The company said the pickup time would be at 6pm but bus picked us up an hour 1/2 late, and then an hour 1/2 into our ride the bus broke down for another 1hr 1/2. The alternator got taken out and a new one got put in. 6 hours later the bus broke down again leaving us stranded from 4am- 10am. The drivers also made a bunch of stops in the beginning? We also had two people sleeping in the middle of the bus which made it hard getting to the restroom/off the bus without stepping on them & towards the end of the ride someone started smoking a cigarette which filled the cabin with a strong odor. Communication with what was happening would have been appreciated as no one told us what was happening or how long it would be at first but eventually it got fixed and figured out. We did stop for a bite to eat for free towards the end of our journey and eventually we got to where we needed to go. + restroom on the bus was pretty clean. My boyfriend is 6’3 and couldnt fully stretch out while laying down (for all the tall people) but he said it wasnt the worst. Overall, the trip took us 24hrs when it should have taken only 18hr.

Travelling by bus essentials

  • If you are planning to travel during the high season, weekends, or national holidays, booking your bus tickets in advance is highly recommended. The demand is at its highest, yet very often, the number of coaches serving the route remains the same. The earlier you reserve your seat, the better. On some routes, you need to secure your ticket more than a month in advance; on others, a couple-of-days advanced booking is enough. During such periods, try to book online beforehand whenever possible, as showing up at the bus station without a ticket may result in many-hours of waiting in the queue or leave you downright stranded.
  • VIP, 1st, Gold, and similar bus tickets are the most expensive option, but they provide a higher level of comfort. Normally the price of such tickets will include wide soft reclining seats, blankets, water and snacks or lunch, and sometimes some toiletries. Upper-class buses travel faster, make fewer stops during the route, and normally provide more spacious seating to their passengers and a better travel experience.
  • Not all buses have an on-board toilet, but generally, for all trips longer than three hours, all operators schedule a bathroom and/or a lunch stop. While operators definitely do their best to keep on-board toilets clean, the smell may be an issue sometimes. For longer trips, booking a seat a bit farther from the toilet may be a good idea. Also, using bathroom stops for your toilet needs is always better than trying to find your balance in an on-board toilet on the run.
  • If you travel by an air-con bus, make sure to pack layers. A hoodie, a warm scarf, or a beanie hat may prove a good idea. Air-conditioning on buses tends to be excessive, and running nose and sore throats abound after even not the longest bus rides.
  • Always use the security belts even if your bus ride attendant or driver does not insist on it. Your safety comes first – for you, for sure. All buses normally are equipped with security belts, but they may be fixed behind your seat. Take time to find the belt and fix it appropriately.
  • To avoid being disturbed by overhead lights, switched on during stops even at night, and too loud music or sound from the on-board entertainment system, have earplugs and a sleeping mask at hand.
  • As a courtesy to other passengers, avoid using strong perfumes or smelly foods. Some foods like cheeses or durians are forbidden to take on-board – check in advance. Alcohol is also prohibited on the majority of buses.
  • Note that if the bus requires refuelling en-route, passengers will be asked to get off the bus. Operators are not allowed to refuel with passengers on board due to safety reasons. Usually, it takes from 5 to 10 minutes and is often combined with a toilet/lunch stop.
  • If not stated otherwise in your tickets, arrive at the bus station 20-30 minutes before departure. It will give you enough time to find the departure platform and check-in. For international trips, you may need more time for check-in and border formalities.
