Rispetto a quanto speso per il biglietto ( non economico) il servizio è stato decisamente insoddisfacente. La cabina era sporca. Abbiamo ucciso 3 blatte. Le lenzuola avevano macchie gialle e non erano pulite. Cosa positiva il treno rispetto a quello per Sapa é meno rumoroso.

No Violette carriage from Da Nang to ho chi Minh city. So put in 1st class ac. Bed clothes strewn across carriage from previous occupants. Toilet unusable if you need to sit. Thankfully I didn't. Best thing were the train staff. Lovely helpful people. Oh did I mention sharing my bed with 3 cockroaches?

A good way to travel longer distances. With our family we had a 4 person sleeping room. That was great. The train was clean, only the toilets not. But it as about you could expect in a full train. The continuering annoncements on every stations could better be skipped. Food was good and for a good price.
Booking in avance was easy. We also tried to book from Da Nang to Hue, but all beds we occupied. So make your reservation as soon as possible.

Very nice train, clean, with helpful staff that tells you when it's your stop. The train arrived at its destinatioon only 15 minutes later than planned, so overall pretty punctual. Check-in procedure was very nice, I didnt even have to wait in line in Hanoi station (but then again I got there well in advance). You get food on the train, but it's only 1 banana and 1 cookie so make sure you take something for yourself as well. Much less noisy and uncomfortable than the 'regular' sleeper trains by Vietnam Railways. I recommend!

The trip was well organised and easy to exchange vouchers. Clear and accurate information. The only reason I’m giving a 4 is because I was in a top bunk on the train - close to the air con (which is centrally controlled) and I was freezing all night despite wearing several layers. Not 12go Asia’s fault but the train company won’t ask for feedback so have to write it here.

Changing vouchers for tickets and boarding the train was well organised.
The train itself was way below the standard we were advised of and the standard shown on the Internet. We booked January 8 for our March 22 2019 train trip and we were told we could not book the Livitrans train but 12go would book our sleeper on Violette train as it was the same as Livitrans trains.
We did enjoy the experience, must try it once. Be aware of the guy offering wine in the evening and coffee in the mornings as you assume it is part of the service and after you accept he will advise you of the payment. He also offered us our own cabin for an extra payment but we did not accept the offer.
To summaries the trip, we enjoyed the experience but felt let down by what we were given. Carriage 12A was well below the standard of the carriages before us ( eg carriages 9 to 12). The costs we payed should relate to the standard of the carriage and in this case it did not.

All in all a good experience no problem exchanging voucher for boarding card train was on time and the cabins were clean a lot better than I had been led to believe. Bed was a little hard but I’ve slept in worse hotel rooms. 1st time I’ve slept on a train so wasn’t the best nights sleep but still got a good few hours. Took my own food but there is a trolley that comes round with some snacks. Plenty of hot water available for pot noodles. Toilet on our coach was blocked and almost overflowing but the next one was working fine. If you want to sit down make sure you take a seat cover and take some toilet paper with you. The views between Hue and Danang are breathtaking! I’d advise any one to to do this just be prepared and you won’t be disappointed

The boarding process was fine. The toilets were blocked and disgusting. The beds were uncomfortable because the mattresses were too thin and, in consequence, we could feel every bump on the train track. Drunken Germans in another couchette made a lot of noise until late at night. Definitely not a first class experience

we received bording pdf but without couch number. At hué train station nobody can give us the couch number. we finally go in the train without couch number/car number, the train manager never see this kind of reservation and was angry and want to take us off the train! We called the phone number on the pdf but without sucess.Finally the train manager find our couch and let us make the travel. nothing to say about the train and service inside.but totally not happy with reservation service

Conductors smoked all night next door to our room and smoke came in through air vent.
We had booked non smoking. We were not assigned to the berths that we had booked.

Despite being told I needed to change my document from 12goasia to tickets with a barcode I didn't. I only needed to turn up at the Violette counter 1 hour before departure.
The boarding process was good. The cabin was merely functional despite all the claims it was more luxurious than the standard 4 berth cabins.
The toilets were fairly horrendous.
Lots of coffee/tea/snacks vendors.
My advice save your money and buy a standard 4 berth ticket and buy it from the station ticket office and save $+++

Got the Boarding Pass easily.. train was 20minutes late, first gate 3 was shown, 5minutes later gate 2 and the announcement was only in Vietnamese, just followed the other People..bathroom like in China: smelly and wet and disgusting. No complimentary water and snacks, trash bin full, not being cleaned. These are the reasons for the missing stars..

aller en train d’hanoï à Saïgon est un trés long voyage..mais les paysages, l’ambiance en vaut la peine!
les cabines violette sont confortables, pour quelqu’un de petit, vous voyagez avec 3 autres voyageurs inconnus..passé la ville de Hué, où beaucoup de touristes s’arretent , vous ne voyagez qu’avec des locaux..
a chaque gare, les voyageurs descendent et d’autres montent..
le vrai voyage commence..tres peu voire aucun ne parlent l’anglais..mais on se debrouille..;)

Ok cabin, zero service, ac very strong and cold all night, train was 4 hours late. During stops personnel was drinking beer and smoking weed so that was also causing more delay.

The train conducter wouldn’t let us board the train. He said we didn’t have the right tickets. He sent us away, he wanted us to go buy or get other tickets. Luckily we met someone at the train station who could help us. (nobody werking in the train station spoke any English) She said the Violette Train Express always has this same kind of trouble because they have another sort of tickets then the other train services.

It was the third time for us on a nighttrain in Vietnam and we were happy. The Violette Train is cleaner and newer then King and Pumpkin Express.

As other reviews note, you have to trust that the woman will turn up at your carriage to give you the tickets, but it does all kind of work. Linen was clean, our kids (8 and 12) enjoyed it. I'd eat first as the food options are very few and far between - they do have warm beer to soften the blow. Best to bring snacks for breakfast. The toilets were train toilets and not the Ritz - but really they are completely fit for purpose. In case you are wondering, next time I would get the regular soft sleeper. Exactly the same staff, food and toilets, just a different colour blanket and lamp in the window. Had a great trip from Hanoi to Danang - a great addition to the holiday and would do it rather than flying if choosing again (it's like a free tour).

It is what it is, people expect too much. Take own pillow case. Our coach was a totally western tourist one, however staff allowed a dodgy looking couple to sit on 2 tiny plastic chairs blocking access along the corridor. They may not have been pickpockets but why were they in our carriage? They were shifted eventually

The only real difference between a 1st class sleeper and a VIP sleeper is the size of the bed lamp in the compartment. I really don't understand what we paid extra for. Furthermore, getting on the train was super confusing. The voucher states to take it to the coach, but the conductor at the coach was completely uninformed. I suggest a representative meets guests at the station an hour before departure to hand them proper tickets and not make them wait in confusion until minutes before the train departs. Very disappointed in the service provided for the price we paid. I suggest you fly to Danang from Hanoi.

Booking/ticket collection was very confusing, as there wasn't a ticket office (as we'd been assured in an email) to collect our tickets. Room was cramped, but clean. Sadly, it didn't have any wifi. The toilet was in poor condition and I would have expected better amenities, given that our tickets were expensive, especially for Vietnam. Will save time and money and fly next time. Also, in the morning, the cleaners continually barged into our room even though we had 3 hours left of our journey and we wished to rest.

Мне понравилось, хотелось опробовать вьетнамские железные дороги. Чисто, по расписанию, проводник приветливый.
Особо поспать не удалось, потому что как-то сильно трясло и потом все время волнуешься, что проедешь свою станцию. В этом смысле конечно лучше ехать подольше, например часов 17.
Смыв в туалете не работал, но можно было воспользоваться туалетом в соседнем вагоне. В вагоне прохладно, кондиционер работал исправно. Разносят бесплатную воду в бутылках.

It was easy to exchange voucher for ticket at da nang station, which gives coach and cabin number. The trip to Saigon went well. The standard didn't quite meet that of Laman Express, but it also wasn't as expensive as Laman. It was great to view vietnamese countryside along the way.

I had come to Vietnam to travel the country by train and was not expecting high standards of any type, The trains and station facilities are very basic and there is a definite lack of information for tourists, no help from staff at station not a word then again nobody in this country seems to want to engage with tourists or not me at least ???
I have enjoyed my train journeys and I’ve seen some fantastic scenery along the way and would recommend you for yourself however just don’t expect high standards that you may be used too in your own country.
I paid for violette train SE3 which should have had luxury compartments as in the description and cost was far higher than standard price ??? Apparently this was the only ticket available so I had no choice, standard is always good enough for me.
There was a woman sitting at a small desk at the station where I swapped my voucher and was given a ticket for getting through the automatic barriers.
I boarded at Danang and my cabin was very dirty from previous occupants from Hanoi to Danang, there was lots of insects crawling on the walls, the bedding had been used already and just simply folded for me to reuse. I quickly realised that my compartment was no different to any other compartment on the train regardless of ticket type you paid for so makes me wonder why I had to pay far more for the same thing ? I arrived at Nah Trang 20 minutes late, not bad for over 9 hour journey.
Go for it and give it a try but don’t expect too much, certainly don’t expect a Vietnamese to acknowledge you or speak to you, maybe push you out the way, give you dirty looks, run off with your change !

Per 60 euro mi aspettavo servizio diverso, invece le cuccette del treno erano tutte uguali. Se quello era un letto morbido poi... era semirigido diciamo. L'unica cosa positiva è che ti forniscono da bere e da mangiare qualche snack.

Following the instructions in the voucher, we approached the coach we had been assigned. However, we were not allowed to get on the train because we had not exchanged the voucher for a ticket and, after 15-20 minutes, we were asked to get on a standard coach which did not correspond to the VIP coah we had paid for. Very disappointed.

Our VIP sleeper was very comfortable and clean. We used it with 2 adults and 3 kids (6-9). The toilet is far from clean, that is a pity.

Vi havde en fin togtur. Vognen var ok ren og pæn. Dog så vi en lille mus under et af vores sæder. Desuden kunne rude med fordel gøres ren, så man kunne se mere ud af den.
Men samlet er vi fint tilfredse.
