Ben MThe train itself was OK, but the air conditioning smelt like vomit, and the train seats were backwards from the direction of travel which is not great for anyone who suffers motion sickness. The train station was OK but the service was mixed, the staff at the seven eleven tried to short change us and it took 3 attempts before we got the correct change. The Amazon coffee shop on the other hand was honest. The terminal was full of rude passengers of Chinese origin,who paid no respect for other passengers comfort.
The train departed and arrived on time, however I would be reluctant to use this service again.
12go booking process was easy and we received our tickets ahead to the expected time frame.

Oyku GThe vehicle itself was fine. It’s a very clean, comfy and fast train and would give 5 stars. But our tickets were not confirmed for days after purchase. I emailed about it and was told I’ld get the ticket 24 hours prior. Still, I didn’t get it and emailed again. They said the train was full, I could take the other one. I said okay but “my friend is also waiting on her ticket for the same train can you change hers to and emailed her booking number” (The person on the phone told me, we just started calling people, we will call your friend too). W are three people traveling but since we decided to come along at different times, we had different bookings, our initial train was 12 pm, one friend booked through company website and already had her ticket, mine was delayed to 2 pm. The morning of the train, other friend still had no ticket, no email about refund, or sold out train. By the time we got to the train station (10 am because we had a whole day planned) every train was sold out except for 6 pm so she bought another ticket. One hour before the 12 pm train she received an email informing about the refund. In short, our whole travel day was ruined merely because 12go didn’t inform us the train was sold out. That can be done days before and we could book the next train right away altogether. My friend had to wait at the station for more than 8 hours.

Cynthia CI paid to be picked up and taken to the train station. However, as it turned out, the wording on my instructions was not at all clear.
Because I did not have telephone service, I had to deal with the instructions sent to me. They did not seem to have a specific time for pickup so I followed what was said in my instructions.
Which was, If there is no time given in the instructions, then the pickup time is the time mentioned.
None of it made sense to me but I got ready for pickup early and waited. No one came. As it turned out, the time mentioned was the train departure. I was never given a time for pickup.
This procedure needs to be fixed.
In the end, once I found someone who would help me that had a phone, we contacted Family Services and once the operator understood what happened, he rebooked my ticket and sent a taxi for me, which I paid for.
I appreciated this but the wording and information exchange needs to be fixed.

Max WIt was a £7 ticket so I wasn’t expecting luxury. But half way through the journey the fans turned off so whenever the train was stationary I had to stand by the window. Between 2-6am this is not ideal when I’ve been awake the whole time beforehand. If you want a sleeper cabin then book ahead in advance.

Stephanie RThis was my first booking through 12Go. I received my confirmation about six hours before departure, which made me feel a bit nervous. However, the problem was that I was sent a QR code that didn't actually work. At the train platform, I was directed to the ticket counter, where the staff told me they couldn't locate my booking because it hadn't been booked directly through their company. I felt a bit overwhelmed by the situation and wished I had been better informed about the process beforehand. Then, a woman approached me who was holding my ticket. I have no idea where she came from or why she had the ticket, but I was simply grateful that everything worked out and that I managed to catch my train.

Enormous station outside Luang Prabang but no disabled facilities at all that I could see - no lifts or easy access, unless you arrive by car to the front (we were dropped off a few hundred meters away). No pen knives allowed!!! Which is a real problem for most backpackers who rely on self catering.

Autumn LGreat train comfortable and clean. One problem was for us being a family with young children the last minute confirmation was difficult for us. The email says 18hrs after payment not more than 48hrs before the travel date. For us it was confirmed 15hrs before the train departed and i had to email twice for help. Something to consider if you are a family and want to plan ahead.

Veenas WEven though in the end we got the tickets 12 hours before departure time the whole experience was very stressful. The support wasn’t helpful as the reply to every email was literally the same. Not knowing whether you have tickets confirmed is the last thing you need when traveling with kids. The only advantage of using them as you get seats together.
For the rest of my trip I just booked it directly with LCR App and unfortunately didn’t get seats together.

We had to pay for a taxi to get us to the station otherwise we would have missed our train. 12GoAsia were not even interested when I complained. They didnt read the first.email then asked for screenshots of the.contact between us and the transfer. The transfer was through 12GoAsia, we had no.contact for the transfer. How are we supposed to provide that information? Apalling service. Just manafed to catch the train and went on our way.

Martin HThis train service in Laos is amazing. Not only is it comparably fast and on time, but also very comfortable.
However, the train stations are relatively far away from the city and you need to arrive quite early also because of the harsh security checks, which sometimes create lines if waiting passengers.

KEIRON FCrazy service and chaos trying to get on train with much pushing and shoving make sure you get there early as it is more like an airport with security and luggage scanners and the station is a long way from Luang Prabang city. Allow 30 mins by taxi to get there . But a clean quick service
