The boat arrived 1 hour later than expected time, but we were not surprised cause we read that in a lot of comments. The boarding starts at 9, not the departure, and we had a stop at Nusa Penida, they gave us 30 min, but once we were all in the boat it took another 30min to depart cause they were refilling the tank and the smell of fuel was strong. No air conditioning but if you seat next to an open window is not that bad and you will have an extra refresh with the waves. After purchaising the tickets you have to go 1hour earlier to the ticket office to wait for a tag and a QR code to get on the boat, and pay the taxes. In the beginning it all seemed fine. We departed on time but in the end the trip took almost 2 hours longer than it should have. We were in nusa penida for 1,5h instead of just half an hour, and the staff didn’t really update us. During the whole trip the AC was off so it was really warm in the cabin.
Experience was okay, but more communication about the itinerary would have been helpful. A van picked us up, coordinated by the driver using WhatsApp, and drove us for about an hour and 15 minutes north of the pickup point to another town. We had about 2 hours to look around the town, get lunch, and get on the correct fastboat - there were several leaving from the same port building. Lanyards were provided to help with figuring out which was your boat, but that was it. The fast boat took about an hour. It all worked very well, but just about everything was a surprise. Some communication about the specifics of the itinerary, as I described, would have been welcome.
