제 작은 배낭에 모든 소지품을 넣어 버스 밑에 두라고 엄청 고집했어요. 약, 물, 음식, 그리고 필요한 다른 물건들이 그 안에 있다고 해서 거절했어요. 핸드백에 넣으라고 했는데 다 들어가지 않아서 항상 제 작은 배낭을 가지고 탑승했어요.

이렇게 더운 날씨에 오토바이 위에 앉아 있는 것은 참을 수 없는 일입니다. 아래는 더워서 버스 에어컨도 닫지 못해 몸이 추웠어요. 화장실은 참을 수 없었습니다. 문을 닫을 수 없었습니다. 버스 안에서 악취가 느껴졌습니다. 화장지가 없어졌습니다.

하지만 제 잘못이었습니다. 제가 원했던 건 카이로의 기자 정류장이었는데, 나스르 시티가 카이로의 특정 고버스 정류장이라는 걸 몰랐습니다. 아무도 도와줄 수 없어서 결국 새 티켓을 샀습니다. 게다가 고버스 웹사이트(12Go)를 통해 티켓을 구매했더니 최악의 좌석(뒷좌석, 잠을 잘 수 있도록 등받이가 젖혀지지 않는 자리)에 배정되었습니다. 다시 한번 말씀드리지만, 고버스 웹사이트에서 직접 좌석을 선택하려면 12Go를 통해 구매하는 것이 훨씬 낫습니다.

The train was ok, we arrived well at our destination. The egyptian railway service was excellent, we had no trouble to find the correct track and also getting the hard ticket was no problem. However, its more a train for locals, as a Tourist we felt a bit uncomfortable…

The trip took longer than expected due to a late start and rest times of more than one hour and several other rest stops, all in the same trip. Unfortunately, this meant that we were quite late to start our day in our destination, and that threw us off schedule. Otherwise, the service was very friendly and the cars were excellent. I chose this class of bus for its comfort, but besides the damaged equipment, there are no phone chargers and no TV screens. And we are arriving 1 hour and 30 minutes late.

Finding the right platform at Cairo station was hard, there were no signs anywhere. The toilets on board were unpleasant and the train was an hour and a half late. I don’t advise anybody to use this method of transport in Egypt

Too many stops. Driver stopped 5 times for cigarette and coffee, 2 times for fuel, because the first place first have the correct kind. 1 time to pee on the dive of the road and 1 time to use a toilet. I asked him not to smoke in the car but he did anyway. Many times I saw him scrolling through photos on his phone while driving.
