Kim LMy Journey with TravelBusAsia: Pattaya to Koh Phangan with 10seater VIP Vans + Double Decker Bus and Ferry all in 1 ticket
I just completed the Pattaya to Koh Phangan route with TravelBusAsia, and honestly, it exceeded my expectations. Let me share my actual experience.
Booking Was Dead Simple
I booked through 12Go about a week before my trip. What I loved most? No hidden fees or surprise charges at checkout. Everything was laid out clearly—ticket price, taxes, booking fees—so I knew exactly what I was paying. No nasty surprises.
The Bus Itself
When I first saw the bus, I was impressed. This wasn't some beaten-up coach. The seats were genuinely comfortable with plenty of legroom (and I'm 6'1", so that matters to me). Each seat had its own entertainment screen, which helped pass the time. The AC was perfect—not too cold, not too warm—and the whole bus was spotlessly clean.
The Little Things That Mattered
About an hour into the journey, staff came around with drinks and snacks. Later, we got a proper meal. I wasn't expecting this to be included, so it was a pleasant surprise and definitely made the long journey more bearable. No need to worry about stopping for food or bringing your own.
Staff Were On Point
The staff spoke good English and were genuinely helpful, not just going through the motions. When we transferred to the ferry portion, they made sure everyone knew where to go and had their tickets ready. It felt organized, not chaotic like some other trips I've taken in Southeast Asia.
The Reality Check
Look, it's still a long journey—you're going from the coast to an island, so don't expect to teleport there. But TravelBusAsia made it as smooth as possible. We left on time, the connections were coordinated properly, and I didn't have that usual anxiety about missing the boat or being left behind.
My Honest Take
If you're heading from Pattaya to Koh Phangan (or considering this route), I'd definitely recommend TravelBusAsia. Could I have saved a few hundred baht by piecing together my own bus and ferry tickets? Maybe. But the convenience, comfort, and peace of mind were worth every baht I paid.
This is especially true if it's your first time in Thailand or you just don't want the hassle of coordinating multiple tickets and transfers yourself. Sometimes, paying a bit more for a reliable, comfortable service is the smart move.
Rating: 4.5/5 (half point off only because it's still a long journey by nature, not because of the service itself)
Would I use TravelBusAsia again? Absolutely.
