Pros

There is a great deal of choice for those looking to travel from Bangkok to the town of Prachuap Khiri Khan, with departures throughout the day. If you do miss your scheduled departure then you will only have to wait around two hours until the next one, although you will probably have to pay for an additional ticket!

Bang Saphan operates big express buses and not vans – these buses are definitely slower than mini-buses but also more comfortable.

Cons

Sai Tai Mai, Bangkok’s Southern Bus Terminal, can be a very confusing station as it sprawls across several levels and it can often take a lot longer than expected to locate the correct bus stop or ticket office.

It is also worth pointing out that delays are very common on this route, as well as all routes across Thailand, as you can often be caught up in Bangkok’s notorious hectic rush hour which can significantly increase the duration of your journey. It is always sensible to factor possible delays into your schedule to ensure you do not miss any connection you may have arranged.

Another issue with Bang Saphan Tour is that the quality of the buses is not always great and the vehicles can sometimes be old and not in an ideal condition. However, the journey from Bangkok to Prachuap Khiri Khan is only usually around three hours long so it is not a disaster. At least you do not have to endure a longer trip in cramped conditions as is the case on some seven or eight hour long bus rides!

Keep in mind

When you arrive at Prachuap Khiri Khan you will be dropped off at the edge of the town rather than in the centre. This means that you will have to negotiate with the waiting tuk tuk drivers to take you the rest of the way to your accommodation. This is an additional cost than you will have to take into account when planning your trip, not to mention the hassle of trying to negotiate a fair price as soon as you get off the bus.

The biggest issue that passengers have with Bang Saphan Tour is the fairly low standard of buses along the route. The vehicles tend to be older than you would expect and not as high quality as the buses used by some other companies along this route.

Also, the buses tend to terminate just outside Prachuap Khiri Khan so passengers are required to arrange additional transport from the drop-off point into the centre of town. The bus was comfortable and with air condition. 20 minutes break in between. The arrival was 1,5 hours later and the bus stop in Prachuap Khiri Khan is not central! Also no taxi app is working there..

The time given for arrival was 12.30.it wasn't scheduled to arrive till after 2.30.i only found out when I asked the time of arrival from the driver .express I don't think so.its actually a bus.many stops to pick up people and vegetables.

I don't know if it was the fault of Saphan or 12go.asia. But the Times on the Voucher were wrong. It said 17:30, but the ride ended for me at 19:30. Thats not good. The busride itself was nice.

Вы в Азии. Поэтому ждать фишенебельного автобуса смысла нет. Автобус был старый, но всё было комфортно. Кондиционер работал, при этом была возможность сделать тише или вообще убрать обдув своего сидения. В начале пути угостили холодной водой без газа. Важный момент, если у вас электронный билет, то как приедете на вокзал сразу идите на первый этаж и регистрируйтесь, а заодно уточняйте на каком пути ожидает автобус (номер). Там просто очень много путей) Кстати, у нас в билете было написано, что поездка будет длиться 6 часов, в итоге мы доехали за 4 часа))) Возможно из-за того, что это был выходной и не было пробок.

Fahrt von Bangkok Southern Bus Terminal nach Prachuap Khiri Kahn lief reibungslos und wie auf der Seite angegeben. Bus war Sauber und das Personal sehr freundlich. Das einzig negative ist die Tatsache das man nicht im Kern des Ortes sondern oberhalb an der Hauptstraße (wie bei 12go asia angegeben) raus gelassen wird was es nötig macht nochmals ein Taxi etc zu nehmen wenn man nicht 2-3 km laufen mag

Je confirme tous les avis négatifs précédents. Le voyage est 5h avec une pause et surtout vous êtes déposés à 2-3km du centre ville de Prachuap. Et rien ne vous l’indique ! Sympa lorsque vous avez des enfants. Un « taxi » attend les clients et vous fait payer une fortune les 5-10minutes de transport. Mis à part ça, le car est parti avec 30minutes de retard. Personnel agréable, ne parlant pas un mot d’anglais et bus un peu vieillot

We knew 3 hours is a lie, so we weren't surprised when the bus ride took around 5 hours. The employee was friendly and did his best to communicate with us with his little English and our non-existent Thai. We also got some water and had a 10-15 min stop at a roadhouse. We were dropped of at the highway right outside the city, which is not ideal, but at daytime it's not hard to find a ride into town (don't forget to bargain). The guy even knew the location of our guesthouse while google was wrong. The bus was old, but in good shape, good leg room and a perfectly working A/C. The Bangkok Southern Bus Terminal is super confusing, so be there in time to search for your ticket counter (to change the voucher to a real ticket) and your plattform.

It's too bad the pick up is all the way out at the Sourthern Terminal. It's tough to get to - there is nothing else around there. The timing is very wrong - I took the bus at night with no traffic and no stops - and it still took 3.5 hours to Prachuap (not Bangsapan which is further)- in the daytime with traffic and stops it takes way longer. This is not really a trip for a foreigner, the bus doesnt really stop in Prachuap, but at a "bus stop"? just outside Prachuap. There are no taxi's there, or anyone really at all, so if you don't know someone already you will pretty much be stranded. You could walk to a gas station - that is fairly close...if you dont have luggage. The staff that run the bus are fantastic, they do their best to be very helpful - they make sure you know which stop to get off and they are well organized. The bus itself is clean, and very air conditioned.

Everybody knows that the given times are not resriously true. Travel time to Prachuap Khiri Khan was about 5 hours. In addition it should be clear about the bus stop locations.

Agree with the other comments. Trip time was 4.5hrs not 3. Some English signs at the south terminal would be hugely helpful. And last the drop off location should be in the town, not km's out. Otherwise a good trip with great AC and a very helpful bus lady and driver.

3 hours is a complete lie. There was no traffic and no unexpected stops yet the journey took four and a half hours in total, please change the trip time on this site to be more honest. Other than that it was a pleasant journey, the bus was decent with a small toilet and air conditioning which was working hard in the heat of summer but still kept us at a nice temperature throughout. The driver also stopped for ten minutes at the midway point to allow us to grab some food and use a public toilet. I feel as though it would have actually been better for us to have booked our tickets at the bus terminal itself as the tickets we bought on this site meant we were left outside of town, despite the fact that the bus continues into town. We were left a little stranded as Grab doesn't work here but luckily a woman working at the bus stop called a tuk tuk for us, price was 150 Baht.

Everything was good and well descriped, the seats were really comfortable, well air conditioned. It was easy to get some rest. The only thing was we arrived 2h later then originally planned. 1. Some sign posting in English at the Southern Bus Terminal would be really useful as had to ask people several times to be directed to the appropriate ticket collection area. 2. Express @ Bang Saphan it ain't! From the many other customer comments it's pretty clear that it's an exaggeration. It took 5 hours not 3. The driver also stopped about 4 times for various miscellaneous activities including picking up parcels and cargo, as well as dropping off stuff. 3. Got dropped off out of town with no explanation but luckily there were some motor bike taxis around. If I had more than my hefty backpack, I would have been dead meat.

Der Bus war sauber, doch fuhr mit 25 Minuten Verspätung erst los. Fahrzeit sollte laut Internet 3,5 h sein, angekommen sind wir erst nach 6 h. Also sowas geht nicht.

Good bus. Smooth trip. Left half an hour late waiting for a customer although I had to be there 30 mins early. Arrived 2hours late. Dropped down the road from the turning to my destination. Lots of room to stop nearer my turning.

I know the time on the webpage (4hrs BKK to Prachuap) is only an estimation, but the bus came late and according to their experience they should know how to estimate times better. It took more than 7hrs in reality. Other than that, it was okay, although not foreigner-friendly (nobody from the staff speaks English, but it says so on the webpage, so I was prepared).

Время дороги пишут даже не примерное, а деленое на два. Мы ничего, благо, особо не планировали на этот день, но все равно потратили на 3 часа на дорогу больше, чем думали. Плюс место для ног рассчитано для миниатюрных тайцев. И туалет в автобусе адский - сами тайцы и то избегали его пользовать, все терпели до середины пути, где была остановка.

OK : booking and tickets conversion easy; departure in time, not dangerous driver. NOK : Drop off outside the town not acceptable as the bus crosses the whole town and as the driver didn't hesitate to stop as often he wanted. Better not to have to use "toilet"... Of course given time table was unrealistic and this 200 km trip took actually not too bad at all 4,5 hours.

Bus was 15 minutes late leaving than stated but we still arrived 2 hours later than stated on the 12go website. It didn't cause any problem but if we needed to get somewhere else after we'd be in trouble. But apart from that, bus was well airconditioned and the staff let us know when we were getting off.

Instead of 1:30 pm we arrived at 4 pm. They dont really care about the time but all very kind and helpful. The toilet is an adventure for itself but all together it was a safe trip

Bus was decrepit. Not usual Thai fare. Hour and a half late. Dropped side of highway. No complaints about 12go though.
