The bus was very luxurious - spacy, modern and clean. Even the toilet was fancy. There’s a possibility to charge your phone in your sleeping space.
Only minus is - it’s very cold in the bus! Put enough clothes (warm socks since you need to be without shoes, warm pants and shirts). There’s a blanket but it’s not enough to keep you warm.

We have left Kep 1 hour to late. Half way we had to wait until another train had passed. We arrive in Sihanoukville more than 2,5 hours to late.

The actual train was alright, it was only one carriage so when other people got on there weren’t enough seats and we had locals standing in the isle between stops. It took longer than expected because we kept stopping to let people without seats on and off and then the train broke down for awhile right outside of Phnom Penh.

It was an experience worth trying. I found the seat to be on the small side so it was rather uncomfortable since the train was quite full. Ride was about 3 hours and was very reasonable price.

On 12go the trip was announced to last 1h40, but on the board in the train station it is written 2h.
The train departure from Kampot was 50mn late.
Then about half way it had to stop and we were transferred onto bus which was very slow on a bumpy path.
On arrival was were 2h late and almost missed our connection at the pier (where the bus driver said he would drop us to gain time, but he didn't, and we had to take expensive tuktuk in a hurry...)

Very smooth journey with beautiful scenery along the route. Comfortable seating and the carriage that I was in was only about half-full. The train even arrived in Phnom Penh nearly an hour ahead of schedule. Highly recommended.

Booking and checking in at the platform was very smooth. There were two trains and I had to ask people to find which one was to Kep. The train was running really fast in most of rual areas and arrived at Kep one hour sooner than the ticket said. The noise from engine, wheels and horns were sometimes unbearable, but better than unsafe travel with buses and taxies. The train itself needs maintenance. The window was stuck and the fan was broken.

We arrived at the train station and were told that the train was cancelled. No one contacted us before even though they had our email addresses and phone numbers. We were offered a refund by one lady, I went to check with my partner and came back to a different lady who said “we can’t do refunds today, you’ll get it tomorrow” and couldn’t tell me how I would get it. They offered “a minibus” that would take us instead but every one was told a different time that it would arrive varying by 2 hours. We did eventually get the refund in cash but out of that lady’s own purse??

The train left on time and arrived 20mins after schedule. Check in was easy. The seats were roomy and firm. No AC but with opening windows, it was a comfortable temperature.
